  1. Mama Says:

The truth… The do run a little big (not too much though). They are firm/rigid and high (my ankle bone was also sore for a while). They do take some getting used to. I went all the way- getting these and wearing them to work straight for 6 days and they broke in and are way comfy now. They did chafe my ankle and had some pinky toe pinch action (a little narrow) but they’ve stretched out. My posture is better and after 3 weeks the aesthetic improvement is undeniable. Inches from my thighs? No, but more toned, smaller, blah blah blah. I’m an NYC walker/food industry native. My posture sucks. I work standing and running around 9-12 hours a day. What they say about these shoes does seem to be true though. I also was a fan of the funky platform sneakers of the late 90’s and these bring a certain nostalgia with the height and all.

Like walking on a CLOUD! This is my 1st pair of this type of shoe. What lured me to them was the claim that ‘your body thinks it is getting a workout- even just in daily walking’. Plus- their website has all kinds of data of ‘increased muscularity in unused parts of your body while in the shoe’ and ‘toning your core’. When I wore them for the 1st day - I felt very wobbly and unstable (which I think is what this shoe is supposed to make you feel like). The video that comes with the shoes says ‘initial lower back discomfort is a sign you are walking in them correctly’. I did have that, but it disappeared after one day, and I didn’t mind since it validated I was using them correctly. Each day I wear them it seems they are becoming easier to walk in. I do love how it makes you feel like walking on sand!! Very bouncy, adds an airy feeling to walking. If you have the money-try them. I would call it a walking ‘experience’ when walking in them. Downhill walking is weird and so unstable at this point but I think as time goes on, I will build strength needed to walk downhill w/o feeling like I am going to fall. Uphill, no problem. Michael Kors Splash Boots. I love the look - I always wear funky shoes so this is no different for me. At present I walk on a treadmill at inclines of up to 12%. I haven’t used my MBT’s on the treadmill because nowhere in the literature does it say they can be used while walking on steep inclines for 30-40mins straight. Overall- I love them because they make walking on flat ground feel different and invigorating. Michael Kors Splash Womens Boots.

Miracle shoe - This shoe really gives you a workout! If worn for longer periods of time, it feels like you’ve been waterskiing. The only drawback, for me, is that the shoe is high and hits my ankle bone a bit. Michael Kors Splash Shoes. That makes it difficult for me to wear them for more than about 4 hours at a time. I would highly recommend these shoes for women who do alot of walking as their main for of exercise. Splash Boots

They Help - This is my second pair of MBTs, the first was the grey MBTs which took some getting used to because of the technology built in to this type of sneaker. I recently purchased the MBT Sport High. I very much enjoy it and at the same time I would caution potential new purchasers that this takes even more getting used to because of the height displacement. However, once you get used to it (and if money isn’t an issue), you will benefit from the comfort and the orthopedically designed technology. Good walking shoe. I bought this after seeing it advertised in several catalogs touting its effects on those hard to tone places on your body. Sounded good to me. The shoe fits fine and does the job of serving as a walking workout shoe, but it might just be that the hype and hope of its effects are making me walk more actively and frequently to achieve those effects. Whatever the reason, if you have the extra dough to spend on a walking shoe, go for it.

  5. Los Angeles Says:

People with joint problems beware. I think this is a very specialized shoe and that should be stressed. After trying them on, I realized almost immediately that if one has joint problems (hip replacement/knee replacement) one will need to be very cautious and absolutely has to receive formal training if walking around using this shoe. I have been involved in physical fitness most part of my life. Yes the shoe is absolutely comfortable, but I am going through the probability of hip replacement in the next year and I am not willing to experiment with a whole new way of walking and using all of your muscles differently. People with any particular joint or other problems absolutely need to consider a specialist with this shoe, which by the way, the MBT website did not appear to have anyone in my area. Just be careful and really try them for a while around your house to make sure that the lower back does not flair up or your existing joint problems. Amazing Shoe! Amazing Service! The shoe itself is amazing! Everything you’ve read about it is true…it really works your muscles. As for Zappos’ service, I am baffled. I ordered the shoes online at 7:30pm one night, and the very next day the shoes were at my door. How’d they do that??? Even Santa doesn’t work that fast! THANK YOU!!! :-) This is my third pair of MBT’s. I have another high pair and one regular. The reason I gave these shoes a 3 in comfort is because the heel area of the shoe is quite stiff and does not conform to my foot. I need to wear thick socks to prevent blisters. Other than that, the shoe is great! Best Shoe Ever - I thought the band around the top of the shoe was a tad restraining at first, but after only one day wearing the shoe it felt great. My knees did not hurt, nor did my arches, and my back stood straighter all by themselves. I can’t wait to buy more colors and styles!!

  6. Debbie Says:

These shoes are the BEST! These shoes are amazing! They take a little getting used to (not much), but they take so much pressure off of my lower back that I can be on my feet all day without my back (or knees) hurting! I highly recommend these shoes (or the sport low style) for anyone with back or knee problems! Do follow the fit guide… you want your toes starting out real close to the front of the shoes, as the walking/rocking motion moves your foot a bit and the shoe actually stretches slightly and conforms to your foot. I normally wear a 6.5, (euro size 36-1/3 for the sport low shoes)but the 6 (euro size 36)is a perfect fit! I have both the sport high and low… definitely prefer the sport high (but then I’m short as it is!).
